So you know those conversations that lead to fun coincidences. Well, I was talking with a friend about where I could get cheap printing, when he pulled out a business card for a friend who owned a printery. Took the card. Looked at it. Nice font choice, a soothing mint green background, laminated. Decent. Not impressive, but decent.
I did mention that he owned a printery right? Ok, so the card had a calendar on the back that not only endangered my eyesight by the fact that it was tiny but by the fact that the entire thing was slightly blurred. On closer inspection I noticed the card was cut with a slight left bias, the fact that some of the border edge still remained was also a good clue. Moral: search for affordable printery, still on.
Everybody had a business card in this age of Word template documents and Xerox machines. From the maxi driver to the suited businessman. So when ordering business cards, investing precious start-up capital, think frontline representative for your business? Like the doorman to a building, the host at a restaurant, or the receptionist at the front desk. If it’s inarticulate, unhelpful or boring…no dice and being attractive always helps, right? Remember, you can’t make a first impression twice so make your card count.
Here’s a link to a couple of cool cards that might trigger inspiration or just provide an example of what to do when designing your card.
