Carib Brewery, producer of the mainstream juggernauts Carib and Stag, saw an opportunity to increase market share by introducing a new product to compete in the value segment – enter 868 Lager Beer.
Proudly bearing our national colours and area code, 868 Lager Beer sought to appeal to conventional beer drinkers, looking for an affordable local lager they can be proud of.
We differentiated 868 Lager Beer from its mainstream counterparts by developing and remaining faithful to the brand persona – down-to-earth, sociable, and undeniably Trini. The My 868 campaign celebrates the moments, symbols and way of life that make Trinidad & Tobago unique.
Bespoke illustrations of national iconography such as the steelpan, scarlet ibis, moko jumbie, POS cityscape etc. further distinguished the brand’s visual identity from its competitors.
Our social media content tells the story not only of the brand, but the identity of people that 868 represents. We use three main vehicles to create synthesis between the brand and our target audience: local culture, pop culture and humour.
