Happy 15th Anniversary, Pepper Advertising!

We almost feel bad saying that we are celebrating anything, in these pandemic times.  The thing is that we still live by the same values, for the past 15 years.  We keep learning, we give a damn and we own our actions. We will get to the other side of this COVID river. Together. We are grateful to our clients, who have trusted us to be the ones that help them get closer to their customers.

I was in my dream job heading McCann Erickson in Trinidad, Barbados and Jamaica, but I did not have a dream boss. So I started Pepper with the help of some mentors who gave me advice and even some start up cash. I am grateful for so many people who have helped Pepper get to 15, especially our passionate team and loyal clients.
Respect, sincerity and genuine camaraderie are the things I value most about working at Pepper
“Pepper is like family, it is a supportive work environment that allows you to grow and strive to be the best version of yourself, every day.” says Zo-Mari. With T&T culture in her blood and her acting experience on stage, she brings wit and street smarts to our deliberations.
J’Que is the youngest member of the team and had this to say about the Pepper pot: “I’m not the sweetest or hottest Pepper but I like to think that I add a certain oomph to the unique blend of personalities and talents at 37 Picton Street”
Bjorn says he’s worked with some “really talented ad people at Pepper.” “We’ve done some extraordinary work over the years and we’ve always had fun doing it.” September 1st marks another year at Pepper for Bjorn, something he probably didn’t see coming when he was recruited at a coffee shop, with no agency experience, 12 years ago.
It may sound cliché, but Pepper is like family. Working along with friends makes those challenging and sometimes confusing and ever changing client briefs, just a little more tolerable. I’ve spent the last two years and a bit with my second fam on Picton Street and nowadays, mostly from home.
Dameon says he likes the “atmosphere and people” at Pepper. “I feel like I am coming to see my good friends, which makes it such an enjoyable place to work and October 1st will make it 10 years here.”
Eric is Pepper’s most senior member of staff. He wonders how. Everywhere he worked at prior, he stayed for a maximum of 3 years. He is now clocking 13 years at Pepper.  It may be because of the right mixture of herbs and spices.
Keri Reyes
Keri says “for the past 5 years, inspiration, trustworthiness and love are what I feel most at Pepper”. Although media planning and booking are her core functions, Keri jumps in to help with client service and administration. Her friends in the media love her, because they know that when Keri makes a promise, she keeps it.
Having only been at Pepper for 6 months, I’m definitely the newbie in town. However the warm welcome I have received and continue to receive blows me away every single day.
Even though I have been there less than one year, Pepper seems to be the perfect definition of team spirit. This industry can feel like a whirlwind at times, but the team at Pepper truly knows how to rally together to get the job done, and done well.
March 2020 made it 6 years since I’ve been at Pepper. During that time there have been many changes but always lots of fun and raucous laughter in the process – that makes the heavy lifting and serious work easier!
