We are almost 50 years old as a nation and today in my celebratory series, I reminisce on 1976 when Hasely Crawford brought home gold to Trinidad and Tobago in the 100 metres sprint at the Olympics held in Montreal, Canada. After that, a fever took over the nation. Running became the overwhelming fad and the youngest to the eldest were in track suits emulating our new hero across T and T.
The legendary Maestro recaptured the moment well.
Here is a clip of the historic moment from an angle that I never saw before.
