J’Que picks the Golden Pepper in 2020
It was a happy coincidence that the 2020 Golden Pepper Award was given to Pepper’s Digital Marketing Strategist, J’Que Williams, during the company’s inaugural Virtual Christmas Party. “Each year, the Golden Pepper Award recognises the person who best exemplifies Pepper’s values of taking ownership, openness, curiosity and a passion to serve, while having fun” said Pepper’s Founder and Chief Inspirer, Dennis Ramdeen. He continued: “J’Que is a very intelligent young woman who has only just begun to blossom, I cannot imagine the heights she will achieve, if she continues on this trajectory”.
Before joining Pepper in May 2019, J’Que started her career in marketing with the local licensee of FranklinCovey, an internationally-recognised corporate training solutions company. She later ventured into the advertising agency world, engaging with and assisting the online audiences of some of the region’s most notable brands such as Caribbean Airlines, Courts Caribbean, Carib Beer and many more. As an Account Manager, she had the opportunity to work on digital campaigns and initiatives for brands in Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and Suriname. Her familiarity with financial services and retailer brands made her transition to Pepper a smooth one, eventually resulting in her recent promotion to Digital Marketing Strategist. Keitha Oliver, Client Services Lead at Pepper shared: “We couldn’t have picked a better Golden Pepper this year. Throughout the many changes and challenges of 2020, J’Que has consistently exceeded performance expectations. As a result, she now has responsibility for crafting digital strategy for our clients’ brands. She demonstrates her sound grasp of marketing and marries that with her digital expertise perfectly. She’s always thinking of ways that we can serve our clients better and add more value; whether it’s through technology, strategy, or both. She is smart, opinionated and caring – an invaluable asset to the team.”
As J’Que graciously accepted the award, she credited Pepper with providing her with a safe and stimulating environment, so she could blossom into this year’s Golden Pepper. She intimated, “Pepper is good soil; I’ll always say that. It’s the guiding hands that have helped shape me into a Golden Pepper. I sincerely thank you for that.”
