10 ways to succeed in 2013
- Don’t listen to people who say that you don’t have the talent, or there’s too much competition, or simply that you won’t succeed. Believe in yourself. (Thanks Jeff Haden)
- Start. Just start. (yes you with that all female courier service you’ve been thinking about)
- Find a partner or a mentor to help you through the tough times (sometimes all you need is a good wife – Thanks Rebecca!)
- Be super frugal. Cash is king. Don’t spend a bad cent
- Hire slow. Fire quickly. If the fit is not there, move on quickly. That’s better for both parties
- Learn the art of networking. It will be your best tool for attracting customers
- Read “Book Yourself Solid” by Michael Port
- Make your cow purple so it stands out. Differentiate your product or service in a material way
- Be prepared for 16 hour workdays and no weekends
- Make sure a strong person is in charge of keeping count of the cash
