Differentiation is key to branding. The Fatima Fete, put on by its Old Boys Association (FOBA), continues to show that its organisers understand what it means to be different from the rest. Barry Davis and his team have come up with the novel idea of a ticket lottery to deal with the reality that there is more demand for tickets than supply.
So because Fatima boys put fairness first, they had to find a way to give people an equitable opportunity to source a ticket to the Fete. FOBA has allocated some of the fete tickets to this lottery and past students who are registered with them have been invited to participate. This is the first year, and I’m sure the system will not be perfect, but the idea is brilliant.
And what does this do for the Fatima Fete brand? It makes it even better. It says to the Fatima Family that values are important to us. And that is so Fatima. Our world gives us many examples of selfishness. FOBA and many similar organisations in our schools and communities are oases.
