Are ‘All Inclusive” Fetes priced high? Or are they great value? Well let’s do some math. A glass of wine, Scotch or Premium Rum drink would cost you $30 in any half-decent bar. A Margarita would set you back at least $50. So assume you have 6 Drinks and your partner has 4, your bill comes to $380. Of course, 6 drinks in a Carnival Fete in 6 hours would make you one thing: a rarity. So you are more likely to be having more than six. Anyway let’s move on…..Food x 2 = $300 (very conservative estimate when you have an Apsara catered meal, A Maracas Bake and Shark and food literally from Belmont to Debe)…..Concert Tickets x 2 = $600 (most of them have 3 LIVE Bands so that’s $100 per band), so not too shabby……you’re up to $1,280.
But what about some of the things you also receive like relaxation, prestige , bonding and even networking. What value do you place on these? It’s very hard to be depressed in a Carnival Fete if you can lift yourself up to get there. Some people even find ecstasy.
“All Inclusive”s might actually be good value. (unless you drink only coconut water and are a vegetarian who prefers Mantovani over Machel)
