How to make T&T’s Dimanche Gras show more marketable?

Short answer?  Agree on the target and give them what they want at the right price.  Is it people sitting in the stands?  Or is it people sitting in their sofa in the middle of winter in their basement in Canada, NY and London?  Let’s assume it’s the latter and that the people in the stands are really part of the act so that the performers have a live audience to vibes them.

And what does the target want and what will they pay?  We can get a few bright people in a room over a week and figure that out, plus an online research study to test and validate assumptions.

I also think we can learn a lot from the WACK people.  (90.1fm run by Kenny and Dianne Phillips)  What have they done?  Very simply, they bring relief  to Trinis abroad who are homesick or who just want to be plugged in to the motherland.  They bring sunshine to winter (and cool to summer).

And that’s what the NCC is selling in February…the cure for Carnival tabanca and sunshine.

If they look at the Dimanche Gras with this kind of approach (even if the target changes), they might just get it right this time.
