How do we begin to put a value to the work that Black Stalin has put down? What has been his contribution to helping us define ourselves? Has he added anything to our happiness index?
Why does he care so much about Sufferers?
Black Stalin is a man who has always been comfortable in his own black skin. And that, for me is his power. He is a rarity in his self-confidence and independence. He has for over 50 years held a mirror up for us to watch ourselves with all our beauty and our warts.
He has never hidden his belief that “Someone greater put this world together”.
What has this Caribbean Man contributed to T&T? Well long after our oil is gone, his music would still be here. So we will find out in time.
