I’ve been driving pass this sign for the last few weeks and always wonder what it was about Mr. Fawthrop that caused this show of pubic affection. Further it got me thinking about why we go to work in the first place.
The answer is simple. We do what we do to add value to people’s lives. Maybe Mr. Fawthrop was a great math teacher who also organized the annual Christmas Concert with aplomb and dressed up as an angel for Halloween. Whatever he did, he caused a whole lot of people to remember him.
What about you? What words do you own among your peers and customers, in that huge filing cabinet we call the brain. Let me name a few such words that are up for adoption:
• Reliable
• Whiner
• Accountable
• Procrastinator
• Team player
• Trouble Maker
• Fair-minded
• Selfish
• Devious
• Cantankerous
• Respectful
• Positive
• Genuine
- Honest?
So, will you be missed? And which words would go next to your name when people remember you? The thing is, like Mr. Fawthrop, you get to pick.
