10 carnival 2024 predictions [cleaned up my crystal ball this morning, and found these doozies staring at me]
1. Not everyone will agree on who should have won Panorama, but in the fray is a band from the east
2. New Road March champ will be embraced by revellers, who NACC has already crowned
3. Too young to soca will win the Calypso Monarch, although this one is a tad blurry. Could it be Teja Vu?
4. Bands will complain about wait time in the Savannah and claim that it was the worse year ever. A bigger worse year ever than last year’s worse year ever
5. Tong will declare Fatima College as the winner of the 2024 SFIC having beaten Presentation in the Final [School Fete Intercol Championship] /CIC beat QRC for 3rd place
6. Gypsy will present the crown to the eventual winner of the Extempore Calypso Competition and the winner may go to London
7. There will be floats at the King and Queen contest that will not allow the person that is straining under its weight to be able to break a smile, or manage even a faint wine
8. Pick pocketers will be on duty on the drag on Saturday night coming
9. Dancehall music will be heard on our urban radio stations by 2:00pm on Carnival Tuesday
10. Some people will get a bad feeling on Carnival Tuesday evening, around 9:00pm, and would reluctantly have to call in sick on Wednesday. [Luckily they can go to Maracas and soca in the sea, and that should help clear things up]
