Tobago holds a special place in the hearts of Trinidadians. We Trinis wish we could enjoy the stress free life they lead. We admire their authenticity – they keep it real. We envy their beaches. There is something about the Tobago sea and sun that’s so different from Trinidad’s although the distance between the two islands is 82.95 km. (51.54 miles/44.76 nautical miles) Then of course there is the Tobago sweet hand that works like a magnet pulling Trinis to the kitchens at Store Bay especially and around the island.
So when Tobago came calling to our pepper office this week we felt honored. The husband and wife team that lead the Smart Foods Caribbean are determined to make Tobago famous for one more thing, its Pepper Sauce. Darilyn Smart is putting her UWI degree to good use and making Tobago waves with her unique fruit based range of hot sauces. (can’t wait to try the Spicy Pineapple she left us!)
So now pepper advertising has teamed up with Tobago pepper to tell the story behind this brand. Pepper fuh so! Don’t expect to see any mass media here. We hope to get Darilyn and her team blogging and expanding their facebook to play a bigger role in sharing the story. Most importantly we will be working to increase the visibility of the brand on dinner tables, in home and out of home, starting with Tobago.
