(Full Disclosure: I work with Wendy’s franchisee in Trinidad and Tobago)
The best leader, for me, is one who keeps his humility. I’ve been lucky to work with the best and the worse. Lucky because even with the worse of them I got to see what’s available to me in terms of leadership style. And even the worse of them also had strong qualities like tenacity and drive. One very extraordinary leader that I have in the past year “encountered” is Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy’s. He must have been a special guy.
Thomas believed that everyone who worked at a Wendy’s restaurant should have an MBA – a “Mop Bucket Attitude.” This meant being willing to do anything necessary to ensure customer satisfaction and treating every customer as if their jobs depended on it – “because they do!”
Do you have a MBA?
