I actually don’t know too much about Steve Jobs. Like Amy Winehouse I know him more in death than I knew him in life. And, like Amy, he was a very unique talent. My son Dike sent me a link to an address he gave at Stanford in which, among other things, he reminds us to do what we love.
And yes I can just hear the excuses. “I’m over qualified for that job.” “So many people don’t have jobs, I better hold on to mine.” “Too many bills to pay.” ” I would never make at that.” ” I know the devil I have and don’t know the devil I will get.” “My mother won’t like that.” “It’s too late to start.” (btw Colonel Sanders started his chicken business at 55 with the proceeds from his social security cheque – isn’t that kind of scary? Amy died at 27 and Steve died at 56)
Are you doing what you love?
